KLM Royal Dutch Airlines

—a suspended social media moment that you couldn’t help but share

The Concept—

The Concept—

KLM tasked us with creating a suspended installation that would invite guests to share the experience of their Spring Pop Up Shop on social media.

Of course, we decided to venture beyond the ask to soar above the rest.

The Materials—

The Materials—

Fifteen feet in the air, we hung a custom PVC grid where KLM’s model jets were at the helm of the installation; accompanied by over 450 hand folded airplanes and 3 giant custom dodecahedron clouds.

The Process—

The Process—

From the individual paper planes to the full configuration itself, each element assembled by hand and every detail was critical. We had limited install time and too few ladders, so effective communication was crucial to bring this concept to life.

The Final Product—

Once a raw space; guests stepped into a luxury airport lounge in the middle of New York’s Lower East Side.

Whether they sipped coffee or took a stationary bike for a test drive; the suspended flock of paper airplanes kept each visitor looking up.
